The Phair—Photo Art Fair will return to Turin from May 3–5, 2024 (preview May 2) with projects related to the image and contemporary artworks made by photographic medium.

Galleries’ projects in pills
Simóndi
gallery will present the works of Eva Frapiccini, Mohau Modisakeng and Laura Pugno, linked by the theme of the rite. NContemporary gallery returns to THE PHAIR choosing the works and the research of performative practices by the artist Cristian Chironi. Umberto Benappi gallery reflects on climate change and the devastating consequences it has on mountain areas and the people who inhabit them. Franco Noero carefully selected the Brazilian artist Paulo Nazareth’s artworks in which work, life and art often coincide. Giorgio Persano will present Per Barclay, Paolo Cirio and Susy Gómez, three international artists who experiment with the medium of photography and pursue their personal artistic research.

The focus of the Jaeger Art exhibition is the subject of different approaches to portraiture. The gallery will showcase the iconic works of the legendary George Hoyningen-Huene, the collaboration between artist Tina Berning and Michelangelo Di Battista and also the artworks by the photographer Ingar Krauss. NM Contemporary selects Vincenzo Marsaglia’s works, realized in different historical locations in Italy, as part of the ambitious project “MAP STAR THE WORLD”, in connection with the use of Holones 2 to create an artwork.

Orizzonti urbani
V
isions and perspectives of eight local artists: The new project, with the collaboration of Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo, aims to enhance the artistic research carried out by Italian and international artists working in Turin. Each interviewed will create stories of the local art scene, through the looks of women who have interpreted the concept of landscape extending it to the concept of cosmos, collective memory, social landscape, archival. All the interviews can be downloaded by scanning the QR code at the Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo booth, which also features biographies of the artists and a video loop.

Photography: revolution and innovation
Program of meetings in collaboration with La Stampa: Thanks to the media partnership with La Stampa, THE PHAIR will organize four talks dedicated to the innovations that photography has brought in different areas: judicial chronicle, architecture, fashion and tourism.

Acquisition and award
The Fondazione per l’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea CRT will expand the Institutional Collection through the acquisition of a work exhibited at THE PHAIR.

The Spada Partners Award, born in 2024 from the exclusive initiative, promoted by Spada Partners in collaboration with THE PHAIR, will support an artist—without limits of nationality or age —through the acquisition of an artwork that provides the most interesting and complete photograph of the times in which we live.
